Alexander Babinski

(born in 1823 a. 1824, died. January 31, 1899 in Paris) - Polish mining engineer, geologist and an ins urgent. There is no known place of his birth, probably came from the Prussian lands. Participated in the Wielkopolska Uprising in 1848. In 1849 he emigrated to France where he trained as an engineer and worked in this profession. After the January Uprising came to Krakow, and managed a factory where weapons and ammunition supplies the insurgents. Later he was again in France.
